Medieval yarrrrn!

As you may know, dear reader, I at one point in my life planned a glorious future as a medievalist, and it is in that vein that I post this link to the Koninklijke Bibliotheek aka National Library of the Netherlands. The KB has recently digitised some images – actually, 11 000+ of them – from manuscripts in its collection, and 25 of said images are of particular interest. Knitting, alas, is not depicted, but there is a surfeit of spindle-spinning to be seen, as well as a medieval wool-winder that looks remarkably like a modern swift. Enjoy!
