I’ve heard a lot, in passing at least, about Pickles! And now I finally had the chance to visit their shop 🙂 Located in a quiet street off the main drag in Grünerløkka, this shop was airy, light, and comfortable. It even included a chair for poor old Dad, who by this time was quite ready for lunch and coffee.
The spaciousness of this shop really relaxed me. It’s a place where you can settle down, look at the yarn, and think expansively about what it could become. Of course, if you’re the sort of person who prefers to buy yarn without any particular project in mind, Pickles won’t disappoint! Their eponymous house brand ranges from fingering to bulky weight, angora to mohair to cotton, in a rainbow of colours.
Although the BC Garn Silkbloom Fino had tempted me earlier at Grünerløkka Garn, I managed to prevail there — but very nearly fell off the wagon here while contemplating Pickles’ Merino Bliss. And Mum was strangely very keen for me to buy some sale yarn, namely Abuelita Merino Worsted, for a sweater for Knoll. But resistance was not futile and my wallet emerged unscathed. However, dear reader, make no mistake: when I am in funds again, I will certainly return!

You should really check out the Pickles website for better pics, but in the event that you lack any incentivies to click through, here are a few from my trusty iPhone — including the aforementioned Merino Bliss…
