Haldetrude is a simple but elegant scarf knitted in two parts and grafted in order to produce symmetrical borders. After the richly textured border, the scarf body is quick to work with easy-to-memorize pattern of nupps and Estonian tulips. A crochet chain edging adds to the lacy effect.
The pattern assumes that you know how to cast on provisionally, knit nupps, and graft (kitchener stitch). A photo tutorial is included for the gathered stitches that delineate the border from the rest of the scarf.
This pattern has been test-knitted.
